On July 15, BMW Group Region China announced a new partnership with Momenta to co-develop an intelligent driving assistance solution powered by Momenta’s End-to-End Flywheel Big Model. Focusing on advancing next-generation intelligent driving technology, the collaboration will debut the Navigation-on-Autopilot (NOA) system on BMW's new models in China, including the coming locally-produced Neue Klasse models — enabling navigation-assisted intelligent driving across highway and urban environments.

Sean Green, President and CEO of BMW Group Region China, stated: “BMW's unique product philosophy and approach for intelligent driving are now enhanced by China's pioneering digital technology. This fusion will create a pure intelligent driving experience with BMW DNA and Chinese Intelligence for Chinese customers. We look forward to establishing another exemplary model of co-creation and shared success with Momenta. This powerhouse collaboration, with China's wisdom, underpins BMW’s strategy of ‘In China, for China, and co-creation at China Speed’, taking it to new heights.”

Xudong Cao, the CEO of Momenta, added: “We are honored to collaborate with the BMW Group. BMW has always been a symbol of driving pleasure and a leader in automotive innovation. Momenta will bring its deep expertise in intelligent driving to co-develop a driving assistance system with BMW — combining hallmark German driving dynamics with state-of-the-art AI large model technology. Together, we aim to deliver a safer, smarter, and more efficient mobility experience for the future.”

China, as a global hub of innovation, plays a pivotal role in BMW’s future development strategy. BMW Group remains committed to its "technology openness" approach in China — retaining core technological advantages while embracing local innovation. Through close collaboration with Chinese partners like Momenta, BMW is well-positioned to meet the rising demand for intelligent mobility from Chinese consumers.

As a global leader in autonomous driving, Momenta was among the first in the industry to achieve mass production of a single-stage end-to-end driving assistance solution. The company’s End-to-End Flywheel Big Model innovatively integrates perception and planning into a unified large model. Its data training framework combines “long-term memory + short-term memory”, mirroring the human brain’s balance of intuitive reasoning and logical analysis. This design significantly reduces training costs and effectively addresses millions of long-tail scenarios — greatly enhancing the reliability and robustness of the driving assistance system.
